How You Can Enhance Your Home with Lutron Lighting Control

Check Out the Many Features Lutron Has to Offer For Existing Homeowners

How You Can Enhance Your Home with Lutron Lighting Control

When you think of smart home lighting control, what comes to mind? It might be the fact that you can control your home’s lights through your smartphone; not just through an on-wall switch. Perhaps you might be thinking that your home needs an entire renovation so that you can enjoy this level of elevated lighting control.

But did you know your home doesn’t need to be a new construction in order to set it up with a best-in-class and industry-leading lighting control system?

If you are an existing homeowner here in the Montclair, New Jersey area, our team of installation experts can add a Lutron lighting control system to your space in a multitude of non-intrusive ways. Keep reading below to explore the Lutron lighting solutions that can be perfect for you and your property.

Caséta Wireless

The smallest of the Lutron lighting control systems, Caséta Wireless is the ideal choice for if you want to give integrated lighting a test-drive.

A Caséta system offers built-in management for up to 50 devices, ideal for a small segment of your house up to 2,500 square feet or for a condominium.

Best of all, though, the Caséta system is wireless, operating through RF technology. This means that the installation of your “smart” lighting system is simple – all our team needs to do is connect the Lutron Smart Bridge to your router and then replace your standard light switches with Lutron’s smart switches that connect through RF signal (not competing with your home Wi-Fi). The process is quick and unobtrusive to your existing wiring and walls.

Once our team connects the Lutron application on your smartphone to your Connect Bridge, you then will be able to manage any device within your Caséta system from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

Of course, Caséta is just one of many choices you have when upgrading to a smart lighting control system. And the fact is, you are somewhat limited by what you can accomplish with a Caséta system.

We explore some additional, more in-depth options from Lutron below.

RadioRA 2

Much like a Caséta system, Lutron’s RadioRA 2 lighting system is entirely wireless and is perfect for any non-obtrusive residential retrofit application here in New Jersey.

However, RadioRA 2 builds upon Caséta through offering several additional features and system capability that Caséta cannot offer.

Firstly, RadioRA 2 offers RF coverage for up to 7,500 square feet of space with a 200-device limit; significantly more than what Caséta is capable of supporting.

Additionally, though, a RadioRA 2 system offers significantly more choices regarding the on-wall controls you can feature throughout your house. While Caséta only supports Pico zone controls and keypads, you can select from a variety of keypad styles with a RadioRA 2 system – including Lutron’s RF seeTouch keypads, Maestro dimmers and switches and the GRAFIK T dimmers and keypads.

With each RF on-wall control, you can select from a variety of colors and finishes to complement your interior design preferences.

While all Lutron systems, including RadioRA 2 and Caséta, support third-party integration for thermostats, Sonos audio systems and more, RadioRA 2 also can make use of Lutron’s RF occupancy/vacancy sensors and room-temperature sensors.

HomeWorks QS

The most expansive lighting control system Lutron offers is HomeWorks QS, which offers RF coverage for up to 50,000 square feet and support for up to 10,000 zones.

This makes HomeWorks QS far and away Lutron’s leading option for home lighting control solutions. While offering all of the perks that Caséta and RadioRA 2 showcase, HomeWorks QS also has built-in integration support for Lutron’s luxury lines of Palladiom shades and Ketra tunable LED lighting.

The fact is, you can accomplish far more with your lighting system with a HomeWorks QS solution compared to RadioRA 2 and Caséta.

While you can feature a HomeWorks QS as a wireless lighting control solution, if you are seeking a more expansive retrofit, we can install a HomeWorks QS system as a hybrid or hard-wired lighting system, as well.

Of course, one of the benefits of a wired lighting solution include increased reliability. But that also might entail a more detailed renovation and more in-wall wiring compared to an entirely wireless system.

At Connect Consulting, our team is here to help you find and install the perfect Lutron lighting control solution for your New Jersey property.
